چکیده
Scintillation and total electron content (TEC) are the two major examples of top-side ionospheric parameters that recorded differently by most Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers. The new GPS sensor created Atmospheric Space Technology Research Associates (ASTRA), Cornell University, University Texas, Austin have capability to record scintillation TEC fluctuations simultaneously. Hence, Connected Autonomous Environment Sensor (CASES) from ASTRA is a software-defined receiver with dual frequency L1 C/A L2C codes for space-weather monitoring can be remotely programmed via an internet source. employs numerous novel techniques make it suitable studies compared other nearby receivers, such as different methods eliminating local clock effects, advanced triggering mechanism determining onset, data buffering permit observation prelude scintillation, data-bit prediction wipe-off robust tracking. Moreover, CASES hardware made up custom-built frequency, digital signal processor board, “single board computer” ARM microcontroller. We used newly installed at Bowen Iwo, Nigeria, investigate rate index (ROTI) around equatorial region. Measurements ROTI showed similar variation trends in monthly, seasonal, annual periods when measurements station, BJCO Cotonou, Benin Republic. looks promising scientific use only one operational Nigeria moment.

Towards Observing Tsunamis in the Ionosphere Using GPS TEC Measurements
Tsunamis have been a significant threat to humans living in coastal regions throughout recorded history. The recent tsunami of September 29, 2009 was a tragic reminder of this fact, as the waves caused over 180 deaths on the islands of Samoa, American Samoa, and Apia in the south Pacific. Recent modeling results and observations have demonstrated that the ionospheric signature of an ocean tsuna...
متن کاملCoastal sea level measurements using a single geodetic GPS receiver
This paper presents a method to derive local sea level variations using data from a single geodetic-quality Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver using GPS (Global Positioning System) signals. This method is based on multipath theory for specular reflections and the use of Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) data. The technique could be valuable for altimeter calibration and validation. Da...

متن کاملGPS=GLONASS-based TEC measurements as a contributor for space weather forecast
Space weather monitoring and forecast require a permanent monitoring of the ionospheric state on global scale. The world-wide use of global navigation satellite systems such as GPS and GLONASS o7ers the unique chance for a permanent monitoring of the total ionization (total electron content—TEC) of the global ionosphere=plasmasphere up to about 20000 km height. In this study we turn our attenti...
